Our Approach to Cases & Clients:
Our approach is simple. Every client matters. We do everything that can
be done to ensure that our clients are put in the best possible position
to either negotiate a settlement or present a contested case in trial.
We are thorough, ethical, and strive to achieve the best possible results
for our clients. Our clients are our friends, neighbors, and colleagues.
We look forward to working with you because we know that with our client
centered approach to family law you will be satisfied with a job well done.
We have written fee agreements with every client. Our charges in most cases
are hourly, at specified rates for specified individuals in our firm.
We may, however, propose other fee arrangements for particular types of
matters, depending on the particular circumstances. Typically, every client
is billed on a monthly basis and receives an itemized bill letting them
know what they were billed for and how much they were billed. Consultation
fees are set on a case by case basis. Until we know how complicated your
case is, it is often difficult for us to quote fees over the phone. We
generally charge retainers or advance fee deposits which are set at the
time of the initial interview.
As a general rule we try to return all phone calls within twenty-four (24) hours. E-mail is an acceptable form of communication which has proven to be a cost savings to our clients if agreed upon between the client and the lawyer. Office meetings are scheduled in advance. We do not accept walk-ins without a prior appointment. All office meetings are with a highly trained lawyer, not a paralegal or staff member.
We have a no pay, no stay policy with respect to written fee agreements with our clients. We find that frequent communication between the lawyer and the client is the only way for both parties to be satisfied.
You should expect to be working with the lawyers in our office as a team
and to develop a relationship with them where you feel free to ask questions
and to keep asking questions until you understand exactly what is going
on with your case. We care about you and want you to have a good experience
with your lawyer and the best possible outcome in your case.
We primarily represent clients in the following counties: Boone, Callaway,
Cooper, Randolph, Howard, Cole and Audrain. We have a one story brick
office building located conveniently off of West Broadway. All clients
have access to free parking and we are in close proximity to downtown.
